Medicine is among the most competitive courses that students study in the United Kingdom. In each year, there are thousands of students from outside the UK that apply and accepted in the medical schools. Entry Requirement for Medicine course

Undergraduate: to study medicine, you have to enroll yourself at a medical school. It is often part of the University, but with strong links to medical practices and hospitals that are near. AAA grade is a requirement with either biology or chemistry.

Medicine Course Entry Requirements for International Student:
International students enrolling for undergraduate in medicine require IELTS score of more than 6.5 across these categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing but overall of 7.0 is required by most universities.

Foundation: after you complete a two-year undergraduate study, as a medical student, you will move into foundation training for two more years. This stage will bring various health care, undergraduates, and postgraduates together. After completion, one enters into a specialist training.

Specialist Training: after completion of four years in the study, you start serious work. You need to work hard after deciding the field you want to specialize. It is a competitive field. In this area, the training can even last for seven years and awarded Certificate of Completion Training after you complete.

UK Clinical Aptitude Test:
The UKCAT is used during selection process of dental and medical schools. The test is done online, where it tests logical reasoning, critical thinking, attitudes and cognitive abilities. You take four tests and an addition of a situational judgment test to qualify.

Verbal Reasoning: it assesses the logical thinking ability of written information and giving a reasonable conclusion: with 11 pages of reading, 44 questions and 21 minutes.

Quantitative Reasoning: it assesses your ability in solving numerical problems: 9 tables, graphs, charts, 36 questions and 24 minutes.

Abstract reasoning: this will help to assess your abilities to deduce the relationships from the information by divergent and convergent thinking: 55 questions and 13 minutes.

Decision Analysis: it assesses an individual’s ability in dealing with various information forms to infer the relationships, give informed judgments, and also give an appropriate response decision: 1 scenario with full information, 28 questions (a basic calculator is provided) and 32 minutes.

Situation judgment: it helps in measuring your responses in various situations and the grasps you have on medical ethics: 67 questions on 20 different scenarios and 27 minutes.
To take the test, you have to do it at your test center locally in your region. In each of the subtest, you take it in multiple choice format. You can get some of the specimen questions from the UKCAT website, but this is because past papers are no longer available.
