MA in Law Course Summary
The MA in Law course is an enhanced, fast-track, a senior status postgraduate degree in Law. The curriculum builds on the fact that you will have already benefited from a university-level education by enabling you to acquire a qualifying law degree in only 21 months, rather than the three years it would normally take to obtain an LLB. The program is carefully structured to cover the foundation areas of legal knowledge and to develop your core legal skills while providing an opportunity for further specialist study.
Some of the main reasons for the student to choose MA in LAW are:
- The MA in Law is recognized by the Law Society and the Bar Council as a qualifying law degree for practice in England and Wales and is recognized in other jurisdictions
- Graduates of MA LAW program have gone on to qualify as solicitors or barristers in the UK, and as lawyers in other jurisdictions in international companies and governmental institutions
- Improve skills to understand and deal with challenges from multiple points of view and become the connecting pin in large organizations
To be eligible to take up your place on our MA Law you must possess an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) at 2:1 or above in any discipline.
Overseas graduates and mature non-graduates:
- Please send your qualifications through to the Admissions team who can advise on your eligibility for the course
- If you decide you wish to proceed onto the BPTC, please apply for a Certificate of Academic Standing from the Bar Standards Board (BSB)
A sufficient command of English is required to successfully complete the course. Please note that students providing a degree from a UK university as proof of English must have studied the whole degree in the UK.
Further information can be obtained from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) (for future solicitors) or Bar Standards Board (BSB) (for future barristers)
If you have completed a degree outside the UK and you do not come from a majority English speaking country:
